Sea-Folk (Water)
Shark Folk
Chisin
The Apex Hunters
Lore
The Chisin are split into two sects: the Upper Teeth (Sea Sect) and the Lower Teeth (Land Sect). Each shapes its culture around hunting the strongest targets in its realm, and each measures worth by capability, not comfort. They are not mindless raiders; they have roles, and every role is judged by one question: does it strengthen the hunt?
The sects are bound by a hard agreement, the Jaw Accord. Upper respects Lower's land claims; Lower respects Upper's sea claims. Breaking the Accord turns conflict into an internal hunt, and no one survives that on reputation alone.
Chisin raids are feared because they are disciplined: fast vessels, small crews, hard strikes, quick withdrawal. Status rises as crew size shrinks - that implies every hunter aboard can carry the fight.
Taboos
Breaking the Jaw Accord. Wasting a kill or spoiling a hunt for pride. Refusing a formal challenge once issued and witnessed. Using "easy prey" as status currency.
Homeland: North Seas (Upper Teeth) and South Coasts (Lower Teeth)
Cities: Razorwake Rafts, Stormjaw Platforms, Whitefin Anchorage (Upper); Deepbite Caves, Redtide Dens, Ironjaw Cliffs (Lower)
Exports: Lightning-fast boats and raiding craft
Imports: Sandrü venom, forged goods, hardened timber
Society: Alpha-hunter culture; worth is proven through survival and capability
Allies: Sandrü
Enemies: Dolphin Folk (Chisan), Triton tide-orders, Whale Folk (Chison)
