Druaezur-Vuori - - Stonewright Warrens / Quiet Engineers

Rock Gnome

Homeland: Vuori (mountain shelves, cliff roads, and deep-cut service tunnels).

Government: Warren Foremen and Survey Elders keep the records. Decisions are made at the Measuring Table, where claims are proven with maps, not shouting.

Society: Deliberate and safety-minded. Vuori gnomes build to survive avalanches, sieges, and careless giants. Their humor is dry; their standards are not.

Buildings: Terraced burrow-courts with stone doors, counterweight lifts, and echo-tubes that carry warnings through the rock.

Trade:

• Export: Load-bearing supports, climbing hardware, stone-lenses, and tunnel tools.

• Import: Grain, cloth, lamp oils, and fine metal fittings from Teräs.

Expanded Lore

Druaezur-Vuori (Rock Gnome) are Druaezur gnomes shaped by Vuori: mountain passes, cliff roads, and stone-sheltered highlands. Inventive and stubbornly exact, they treat the world as a set of living systems that can be understood, repaired, misused, or protected. In their lands, daily life is tested by thin air, avalanche seasons, territorial passes, and long winters, so their children are taught endurance, memory, and measured courage before they are taught pride.

Appearance & Bearing

They are small, bright-eyed, and quick-handed, with regional clothing full of pockets, measuring cords, charms, lenses, or folded tools. Their bodies often show the adaptations of their chosen biome more strongly than outsiders expect. Among the Druaezur-Vuori (Rock Gnome), local signs matter: a travel cord, clan clasp, road token, tool scar, weather charm, or festival mark can tell another native where someone was raised and what duties their household claims. Outsiders often notice the surface first, but the people themselves read posture, workmanship, and how a person treats shared supplies.

Society: & Daily Life

A warren is a workshop, neighborhood, school, archive, and emergency shelter all at once. Status comes from useful designs, proven warnings, and the ability to explain a risk before it becomes a disaster. Their settlements are built around practical trust. Food stores, watch rotations, guest rights, tool access, and emergency shelters are treated as civic matters, not private conveniences. A respected elder is not simply old; they are someone whose decisions have kept others alive through a hard season.

Traditions & Tensions

Their tales often turn on curiosity under pressure: the device that saves a village, the map that reveals a hidden road, or the clever lie that buys one more minute. The Druaezur-Vuori (Rock Gnome) keep festivals, tests, and initiation customs tied to their homeland: routes walked at dawn, names spoken before a witness stone, shared meals in dangerous weather, craft trials, rescue drills, or nights spent keeping watch while others sleep. Their greatest tensions usually come from outsiders who want their roads, secrets, tools, or shelter without accepting the obligations that make those gifts possible.

Adventurers

Adventurers from this culture often leave home as oath-bearers, scouts, debt-keepers, apprentices, guards, messengers, or reluctant witnesses to a problem the elders cannot solve from within the settlement. Many carry a small token of home and a larger burden: prove the old ways can survive contact with a changing world.
